Spring is here in Illinois. It's amazing what a difference moving a few hours south can do! My lilacs are blooming, the daffodils and hostas are out, and the peonies are Lab-height already. Of course, that means the creeping Charlie, thistles and dandelions are doing well too. I was pleased to see that squirrels left a few of the tulips I planted, so I look forward to those.

I have a couple of days off work, so I'll get a chance to do some yard-work. I'm focusing on the front yard, partly because that's what most people see, but partly because the dogs don't spend any time there, so there's no chance they are going to dig up and/or eat anything. So this week it'll be spraying the weeds (better living through chemistry!), mowing the lawn, and hopefully planting some flowers. I got some bleeding hearts, lily-of-the-valley and hen-and-chicks - those, along with the lilacs, remind me of the plants my grandmothers had, and I really want them in my garden too.

This is so great! I love to read what you're up to, Lamp Twin! Our lilacs are still teeny buds, it is fun to see what we're in store for soon! Hooray for Spring!

Hey Sister-Wife!
I'm envious of your yard... although not your season! We've had spring for several months already. :)
I'm trying to figure out what to do with my succulents when we move to a place with winter....

Hey Chica,
If you aren't going to write about the sordid details of your life, why should I even check your blog??? :) Just kidding. Nice to hear what you are up to. Bill & I are leaving soon for a much needed, and very much kid-free vacation in Mexico. I'll have a margarita on the beach for you...

Lylas,
Jen

I have to go check a map... I think I live at the same latitude as you do...and our plants are not behaving. The only thing really taking off is grass...and not on the bare spots we just planted, just everywhere else. Anybody in need of harvesting organically grown dandelions for dandelion wine? It's the only ag-market I can think of for my lawn... I just realized who loocite was...duh.
